Trumpet Opinions

I know I had written previous during my undergraduate about professional trumpets. I graduated in 2009 and still am playing on my Bach Stradivarius model 43. I do love it, yet I feel I’m not growing with it. I’m looking to prepare to audition for graduate schools for trumpet performance. The biggest issue I have with the bach strad is that it does give me a lot of resistance in the upper register. After about 15 years of playing, I do feel that my muscles can handle it, so is it the horn? I have had another trumpet player play it, and he also agreed that it fought him a bit in the upper register. This is very frustrating, as I want to keep studying and growing as a player. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this. The one other problem is I don’t know if I could really afford a new one at this time. Also, let me know if you have any thoughts on auditions, trumpet solo literature, or schools. Will be writing soon about my thoughts on opera. Thanks!!!
