Trumpet Opinions

I know I had written previous during my undergraduate about professional trumpets. I graduated in 2009 and still am playing on my Bach Stradivarius model 43. I do love it, yet I feel I’m not growing with it. I’m looking to prepare to audition for graduate schools for trumpet performance. The biggest issue I have with the bach strad is that it does give me a lot of resistance in the upper register. After about 15 years of playing, I do feel that my muscles can handle it, so is it the horn? I have had another trumpet player play it, and he also agreed that it fought him a bit in the upper register. This is very frustrating, as I want to keep studying and growing as a player. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this. The one other problem is I don’t know if I could really afford a new one at this time. Also, let me know if you have any thoughts on auditions, trumpet solo literature, or schools. Will be writing soon about my thoughts on opera.
