Women in the Trumpet World
For the most part, the trumpet is played more by men than by women. This does not mean that women should be discouraged. It is true that more men are famous for trumpet playing than women, but is this because of actual physical abilities?

it’s all in the anatomy…those of us who can do it to the same extent in the female body are just lucky, and/or weird…haha.
actually, strangely enough, i noticed a decent increase in range and support when i gained some weight but was still “in shape.” it would be an interesting experiment to try.
but, yeah…women can definitely do it too, it’s just harder for us to overcome certain physical things.

As a male trumpet player who has struggled.. I very much doubt that any struggles you have had are due to a female anatomy. Could you point out what it is about the female anatomy that supposedly makes trumpet playing more difficult?
Lots of things used to be dominated by men and aren’t any more… I think trumpet is just like any one of those.
